City Lunchtime has its Charter Luncheon
I had the pleasure of attending City Lunchtime’s Charter Luncheon held on 13 September 2008 at the club's meeting room in Tauranga. Whilst it was a small affair with some of the members already committed to other activities a fun time was held by all who were able to attend.
I as a sponsoring member from Achieve Toastmasters Club and Alan Holloway, mentor from the other sponsoring club Corkers, both presented speeches, one on the origins of Toastmasters and the other on the trials and tribulations of being a cook in an retirement home – recycling the egg.
Maggie Jack, Area Governor for D8 challenged everyone with table topics – the use of body language without talking – entertaining to say the least. How do you get Toastmasters not to talk during a table topic?
Alun Chisholm Lt Governor Education and Training presented the Charter Certificate and Banner to the club members. With the formalities over, a shared luncheon was held. All in all a successful charter luncheon.
