This page describes the main events held during the year for Toastmasters in New Zealand.
Every year District 72 Toastmasters New Zealand organises a number of events for the benefit of current Toastmasters. These are listed on our Events Calendar. Our events include:Club Leadership Training
Two Club leadership training sessions are held each year, between 1 June and 31 August, and between 1 December and 28/29 February, for all club officers. The Division TLI Officers run the Club Leadership Training sessions. Contact the TLI Trainer for more information, on email tli-trainer@toastmasters.org.nz.
District Officer Training
District Officer training sessions are held each year, in June, September, November, February and May and usually involve some or all District Officers and other invitees.
Speech Contests
Four official speech contests are held each year by clubs:
The winners of the club contests compete at Area level. The winner of the Area contests compete at Division level, and the seven Division finalists compete at the annual District 72 contests held in May and November.
District Conventions
District 72 New Zealand, through host clubs, holds two national conventions each year, in May and November. Each Division may hold a half or one day conference in April and October to select the Division entrants in the District contests. Members of the public are invited to attend some sessions of the national conventions through local publicity.

Many clubs in District 72 Toastmasters New Zealand regularly run Speechcraft Courses for novice public speakers. Check the Speechcraft Schedule to find out when the next Speechcraft Course is in your area.
