Toastmasters Week Activities
Here's what some clubs did for Toastmasters Week in Auckland in 2012:
- Auckland Council: joint promotion on staff Intranet and weekly e-zine late February advertising March Open meetings at all seven Council - supported clubs, with contact details.
- West Auckland Community Education: Two advertisements in Rutherford College's 2012 Course booklet, published late February.
- John Snashall, President of the Ecocity Waitakere Toastmasters Club is taking a guided walk at Waikumete cemetery on Saturday for about 25 - 30 people from the Fencible Society and giving a talk at certain graves. The theme is Murderers and Victims, and will be held on March 3rd for about two hours. John has been enjoying doing the research and compiling his stories to relate to the visitors.
- As a District we will be running a 'support marketing campaign' to raise the public's awareness of Toastmasters. This will be running on various national radio stations across all market segments, from 27 Feb – March 10. Gosh don't I sound like an advertising guru. The ads are based around the theme of 'Why Join Toastmasters' with the intent being, that the listeners who want more information will visit our website and find a club near them.
