This page describes the District 72 Organisation, and lists the members of the District Executive.

From July 1, 2010, Toastmasters districts and clubs worldwide will be aligned into 14 regions.

District 72 Toastmasters New Zealand is now located in Oceania Region 12, along with Districts 69, 70 and 73. View the Region list on the Toastmasters International Website.

The District is led by seven senior officers. These officers guide the activities and support functions of the District. The District Governor, Lieutenant Governor Education and Training and the Lieutenant Governor Marketing are elected every May at the Annual Business Meeting. The Immediate Past District Governor is an automatic position.

Divisions and Areas
There are seven Divisions in New Zealand. A Division Governor heads each Division named A-G. They are also elected every May at the Annual Business Meeting.

The seven Divisions are broken into 51 Areas. An Area Governor heads each Area named A1 through to G7. Areas have from 3 to 6 Clubs.

Area Governors are elected by their Area Councils before the May Business meeting. Area Governors not elected before the May Business meeting may be appointed by the incoming District 72 Governor.

The seven Divisions are:

  • Division A - Auckland from the Bombay Hills to Queen Street
  • Division B - lower North Island from Levin-Dannevirke to Waitara-Gisborne
  • Division C - the lower half of the South Island
  • Division D - upper North Island from Waitara-Gisborne to the Bombay Hills
  • Division E - south of Levin-Dannevirke to Wellington
  • Division F - top of the North Island from Queen Street
  • Division G - the top half of the South Island

District Administration
The District Administration Committee consists of the seven Senior Officers and the Division Governors.
The District Executive consists of the Administration Committee plus all Area Governors.

At the District level, Field Officers are appointed to assist with specific aspects of running the District effectively.  They are:

  • Toastmasters Leadership Institute Trainer
  • Toastmasters Leadership Institute Coordinators
  • Dues Renewals Officer
