On Tuesday 26th May 2009 Dinsdale Toastmasters celebrated their club's 25th anniversary at their current venue at the Salvation Army hall, 180 Grandview Road, Hamilton.
The club had its first meeting on 21st February 1984 at Frankton Primary school. The club was officially chartered on the 24th May 1984 when they celebrate their anniversary. It was great that four of the original charter members that started the club were in attendance - below from left to right are – Richard Wagstaff, Ian Inglis, Barry Halligan and Bruce Ram.
It was excellent that 11 of the 23 presidents of Dinsdale Toastmasters attended the evening (Robyn Eisenhut has been president 3 times). Below from left to right is Peter Elliott (1988-89), Bob Clarke (1991-92),Michelle Houghton(2008-09), Karen Stewart (2003-04), Ralph Connor (2002-03), Robyn Eisenhut (1997-98, 1999-2000, 2005-06), Ian Inglis (1984-85), Christine Meyer (1995-96), Geoff Mercer (2007-08), Dave Jones (1989-90) and Bruce Ram (1990-91).
The official cutting of the cake was done by the clubs first President Ian Inglis (1984-1985) and the current President Michelle Houghton (2008-2009).
 
Robyn Eisenhut was given the role of running the table topics for the evening. Every-one had to write on a card their name, when they joined the club, roles they did while they belonged to the club, and their other hobbies. Members got to introduce the member from the details on the card and the audience had to guess who it was – it was great fun and enjoyed by all.
Dinsdale Toastmasters has had 282 members over the last 25 years (thanks to Karen Stewart for collating that list).
