The AirWaves Toastmasters Club charter celebration was held in the splendid surrounds of a regional boutique winery in West Melton just out of Christchurch on Thursday 27 April. Melton Estate Vineyard provided wine tasting, introduced by club members Andrew Ashton and Steve Brasch, and nibbles. The evening proceeded with a Table Topics session, a poem about AirWaves Club members by Dean Mischewski and a toast from Division G Governor Ellie Young.
Geoff Trotter, Lieutenant Governor Marketing, spoke about how new Toastmasters can grow like grapes and mature into fine wines before he presented the Club Banner to President Hansen Loke. Geoff also presented Sponsor pins to Annette Richards and John Veitch, Mentor pins to Beryl Williamson and Steve Brasch, and a special pin in acknowledgement of the efforts and continued support from Kerry O'Brian.
AirWaves Toastmasters Club is one of five new clubs in District 72 this Toastmasters year and is run from Tait Electronics Ltd. in Christchurch.
