The Club is the heart of the Toastmasters organisation. All learning takes place in the Club environment. Club meetings are workshops where you study and practice communication and leadership skills with others who are there for the same reason as you. You learn by doing and watching fellow Club members.
There are over 240 Toastmasters clubs in New Zealand. Most of these are community clubs which meet for breakfast, lunch, during the day, in the early evening or evening after 7 pm. Some clubs meet monthly at a selected restaurant, and some clubs have restricted corporate or professional membership. You can find a club near you using our Club Finder database.
New Clubs
Many organisations are now seeking the skills and benefits offered by the Toastmasters programme. They can easily identify staff who are wanting to learn and grow. Staff can use their newly gained skills to encourage promotion or move on to more suitable positions. Corporate clubs usually charter quickly and some or all fees and costs may be paid for by the organisation. The meeting venue is usually "on site" and the club can meet at any time that is convenient for the staff, whether it be breakfast, lunchtime, or early evening.
