Lunch AND a show!
When CBD Wellingtonians took their lunch to their favourite "sunny-day-lunch-hang-out", Midland Park, they didn't know they were in for a "Lunch and a Show". As 30-40 people devoured their Sushi and Kebabs they heard Peter Scholtens "persuading with power" the listeners to gain confidence, defeat death risks and excel at selling themselves by joining the Toastmasters today!
David Chrisp then cracked the crowd up as he described his good looks in lycra in his "A fools tale". A story of cycling in Wellington; taking on over powered Holden's and buses in a sort of civil disobedience as a cyclist in the nation's capital.
In addition to the live demonstration of a typical toastmaster meeting, listeners and passers by also received a flyer containing information about Wellington Toastmasters and promoting the benefits of joining.
As with every day this summer, Wellington turned on another beauty. Fine and warm and a park full of people relaxing away from their offices who were lucky enough to get "Lunch and a Show". A great time had by all and I would like to thank all involved for putting on and participating in a great meeting.
