It's a new year, and I was thinking about my goals for the year.

What's my Target? To leave our district stronger at the end of the year.

Club Leadership Training
I asked the same question at every club I visited.
- did you enjoy the club Leadership Training, 100% of people did, maybe it was a biased sample. Overall 72% of clubs met their goal of 4 officers trained.

The next round of training starts in December.

District Convention
Last weekend we had the District Convention in Dunedin, the accomodation was excellent, and extremely cheap, the educationals were great and varied, the contests were well run, and most importantly, it didn't seem rushed, the commitee even arranged for brilliant weather.

Remember to use the 2009 Rulebook, fortunately, there are no changes from the 2008 Rules.  

Club Leadership Training Update
Club leadership training is now completed for the second round, please check that all your club officers have been registered correctly.

There will a a prize for any club that gets the perfect 7 trained in the first and second rounds of training, 14 clubs got all 7 trained in the first round, but only 1 in the second round.

District Convention
Remember to book for Christchurch in May, take the oportunity to learn something new, and meet someone new. There will be education presentations by International President Jana Barnhill, and Past International President Bob Barnhill.

Didn't we have a great Convention in Christchurch?

There were excellent educationals by Jana and Robert Barnhill, the convention was very well run, the attendance of 290 was excellent, and they put on great weather as well.

Club Performance
32% of our clubs are Distinguished or better, but that leaves 68% which are not. I hope those clubs are going to see what they can do to get a banner ribbon.
