To be eligible for the Distinguished Toastmaster Award, you must have completed the following:

  • Advanced Communicator Gold Award
  • Advanced Leader Silver Award

Achieving the Distinguished Toastmaster Award takes dedication and commitment to the Toastmasters Journey.

About 30 Toastmasters in New Zealand reach this level each year.

Where possible, the Distinguished Toastmaster Award is presented by a District Officer either at a District or Division Conference.

You'll receive a personalised plaque and a medal (pictured above).

You can also use this award status on your CV.

What to do after receiving your Distinguished Toastmaster Award

This is very simple - your next Icebreaker. The DTM is not the end of your journey, although it will open doors for your next step. Its your decision whether you walk through the doors that it opens, or not.
