Joining a club is the best way to experience Toastmasters. However, perhaps attending regular meetings is not possible for you right now or you are under the age of 18 and not eligible to join.
Speechcraft Courses and Youth Leadership Courses fill this gap. They provide a four to eight week introduction to public speaking for those who want to quickly sharpen their skills.
Our courses are run entirely by clubs. Although clubs have the freedom to set the programme and educational content, most courses follow a “learn by doing” philosophy. This means the content is likely to be very interactive and require the participants to speak!
These courses are designed for the general public over the age of 18. They can also be suitable for workplaces where there is a full team wanting to improve their public speaking skills.
The format for these courses tends to mirror what happens during a Toastmasters club meeting – people give speeches, evaluate each other and participate in impromptu speaking activities. However, unlike regular club meetings, there tends to be a greater educational focus and there will usually be presentations from some the club’s more experienced members.
These courses are designed for people under the age of 18 who are not eligible to join Toastmasters. Clubs will often run these courses with schools and youth-groups to help young people build their confidence and develop leadership skills.
Like with a Speechcraft course, the format tends to mirror what would happen in a club meeting – people give speeches, evaluate each other and participate in impromptu speaking activities. However, depending on the needs of the audience, there may be more focus on interactive activities to push the students out of their comfort zone.
Below are the courses that are open to enrolments. If you want to participate in a course but there is nothing listed for your area, we recommend contacting your local club to see if they have anything planned for the near future.
No courses are currently taking enrolments.
